For the last 10 years we have always provided our own emergency cover 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
We felt this was the best way to ensure a high level of care to our patients as the emergency centres were too far away for our patients to travel.
Now however there is an emergency centre open in Ashford for night time emergencies and we are using them for part of each night. The Ashford Vets Now clinic is fully staffed by experienced vets and nurses who only work at night and are therefore always ready to deal with all types of emergencies throughout the night.
They are the pet equivalent of the Accident and Emergency department of a hospital and help us ensure that we provide a very high level of care to our patients around the clock.
We will continue to provide our own emergency cover every day (including weekends and bank holidays) until 9pm. After this time Vets Now in Ashford will do part of the night shift for us and see our patients until 8am.
This ensures that when your pet is seen late at night it is seen by a team who are only working at night, and that when your pet sees our vets during the day they will have not have potentially been up most of the night with an emergency.
We feel this will lead to an even better level of care for all our patients.
